Designing your tablescape your way with what you already have available is part of what makes family dinners and get-togethers with friends so special. It’s okay if things are mismatched. We all are unique and different, and it’s okay for our home and table to be too.

INSTRUCTIONS

For my tablescape, I began the first layer with this beautiful hand-crocheted coverlet that was a gift. I then put all the candles in place according to different sizes and heights. Then, I placed two glass domes on each end, filled with bird nests and feathers I found on my walks.

You could put decor or food items in the domes. I added old books to the table and placed pretty vases on top of the books to create height. Once the main pieces were in place, I filled everything else in with greenery, antlers, and other items from outside.

After all the decor items were in place, I set the table using chargers, plates, utensils, napkins, drinking glasses, and salt and pepper shakers.

Remember, this is your table. Use what you have and make it yours—a tablescape design that is unique-to-you!

Don’t let decorating intimidate you and keep you from opening your home to those you love. Your guests will be thankful to be sitting and feasting with you at a setting created with love. Relax and enjoy yourself!

Now it's your turn!
